Love and Hate InterchangableA Poem by Melanie NicoleWhat I hate about you. Make of it what you will.
I hate you truly.
Your blue eyes are gazing elsewere. I hate your perfect smile and the way you laugh. Your sense of humor and your loving touch. The words you spoke to me time after time. "Goodnight, love." "I love you, dear." I hate your lips on my neck and your smell in the air. Your jacket sitting in my closet. Yes, I hate that too. I hate your hands entertwined with mine, I hate you tracing aimless lines on my palm. Kissing me for at that your worth-- I hate that too. Lay there with me for just a little while No, don't--I hate you, haven't you heard? I hate how one word will brighten my day Please me love, won't you stay? No, I beg you to leave I hate you My darling, your letters, I hate them too "The first girl I introduced to my parents and the last," you say? Please exscuse me if I call you a liar- It's what you are, is it not? Please don't wave at me from across the room Honestly dear, I hate that too. Kissing in the rain and laying in the grass? Please don't, please go away. Don't pull me onto your lap and kiss ny neck- I hate that too. We take a plunge, a chance to fly I gave you everything. I hate you for that. Truly, I do. © 2010 Melanie NicoleAuthor's Note
