The LepidopteristA Poem by Transiencebutterfly,oh butterfly.......where do you fly away?In that wonderful garden of seeds, Latent and growing, He chased them as a child, Those beautiful butterflies Coquetting before his simple charms- Mud adorned shirt and large smiles On tiny face of delight But eluded him, those flower fairies. Butterfly time fluttered away And in that wonderful garden of seeds, Latent and growing, He chases them, a man Flying after rainbow flights Daphne-dancing before his charms- A plush suit and little joy On his handsome face earnest.
Clawing hands wrench the wings This time, encasing them in precious
glass His bliss feral, so unlike the one During uncaught butterflies; He returns triumphant, not knowing His prize is plastic--- Entombed the real ones lie In an Eden he .long abandoned.
