When silence breaks on colder day

When silence breaks on colder day

A Poem by C. Townsen
"

Experiments in villanelle.

"

When silence breaks on colder day,
Lead me past this living dream
To places far from colors grey.

What words were voiced, they will not say,
Soft, deceptive they may seem
When silence breaks on colder day.

But echoes back beyond the fray,
The whispered secrets, banal gleam,
To places far from colors grey.

So cast the heart and let it weigh
Against all sin, and judgments deem,
When silence breaks on colder day.

Blown scattered ashes to the wind, they
Let them dance on distant stream
To places far from colors grey.

Curse me, for I fell astray,
And lost within the waking dream,
When silence broke on coldest day,
In places washed in colors grey.

I'm not familiar with the style, but I thought it was an extraordinary read all the same! Much applause for your efforts!

Nice use of the villanelle form A pleasure to read real poetry as opposed to free form
