Tinted SoulsA Poem by PL Fremmie
The heart on your sleeveless skin.
Hidden by tinted windows not easily seen. Opaque. Exposed in the night When nocturnal vultures crave the only visible beacon. The bioluminescence of your smile. That guides them through Painstaking flights and battles of their self loathing Their infatuations with themselves Their obsessions with themselves Their twisted turns they take for themselves For themselves only. They are from the fire of the earth's core. They are not for you. Dreams caught by a rearview mirror souvenir Absorbing and filtering the toxic Suitors that yearn for your desires. Like a spider's web that catches prey It protects and steers away from flying fright. Patiently, you caress. Without a jealous, envious or wicked bone in your body You cover in cocoons of impenetrable protection Using hardened taught faith, A means of finding peace in flowing streams of love. The flood gushes downstream, upstream, Across borders unexplored before, Pastures never explored nor seen by the human eye. Your native armor, a painting, a masterpiece by the careful meticulous Shaman. Your locks woven by Algonquin angels. Your spirit birthed by cheerful Squaw chambermaids. Dancing through fields of uncommon colors Only found in the subconscious of your minds' eye You close your eyes And twirl into Arms of Strength, Compassion and Warmth. This is what a true Warrior feels like. This is what took so long. This is Forever. This is Permanent.
