The Bumblebee

The Bumblebee

A Poem by Paul Foster
"

Nature Poem

"

The Bumblebee lies still on the ground

near the park bench.

Is it dead? Or just resting?

It's wings twitched? Didn't they?

Or was it just the wind?

Perhaps it is just tired of collecting pollen

He just needs a minute and he will be off again.

I look at him for 10 minutes,

I'm not so sure now.

He looks pretty dead.

So I do the standard check!

Poke it with a stick!

Yeah! It's dead!
