Unrequited

Unrequited

A Poem by Perry Coley
"

That unrequited feeling. I love the turn of phrase in the final lines. We've all been there right?

"
Do you feel how I feel?

It's like... Well... It's like....

It's that feeling in your stomach when you miss the final step of a staircase
The moment when you think you've lost the key to that tiny lock on your suitcase
The panic as you frantically check every pocket on your outfit for your phone
And the calm that comes that by telling you this, I might never be alone

But then I realise you could never feel like I do, it's at that moment which
I realise feelings are for humans...

And you're a total b***h.

this poem is very interesting and i like the way you use such good figurative language.i laughed when i read the end of your poem. it also reminds me of how i think of some people who act like that.i believe that there is a soul mate for all of us but we have to wait. and i think we'll know when it feels right in our heart and mind.

Interesting and good use of metaphors :) all these feelings are a good way to jolt a person to pay attention, especially the staircase one (I've been there a few or so times). But I liked your ending about how you compared your feelings and said that they are for another human being and that she's a total b***h. That made me chuckle because that reminds me of my feelings for other humans around me. And hey, we are never meant to be alone in this world...there's always gonna be someone out there for us. We just have to wait and let time help us find them.
