The Fog

The Fog

A Poem by petitekay
"

This is about the passing of my dear husband. RIP Tim.

"

A night and day like any other

Where darkness flooded the earth

And then undoubtedly was dismissed

By the arrival of the dawn’s glow

But darkness still binds your being

Though light pierces the land

For beneath the surface you rest

Trapped by steel and glass

On dry ground you stood before

The last of your emotions fled you

Only to grant room for the fog

That eagerly possessed your thoughts

It caressed and held you

When I wanted to hold you

It whispered and uttered to you

When I wanted to speak to you

Your foot falls upon the petal

Lurching you to a somatic demise

The wailing of the engine

Stains the silence of the night

And the disturbed waters part

Folding you into their dank depths

But already you are dead

By the fog that drowned your mind
