OLD TOM'S ANGERA Poem by Peter RogersonLove so deep that death makes a man angry.
Old Tom was angry the day his Agnes died, for “I'll be seeing you tomorrow”, her last words was how she lied.
Once she'd said she loved him, With words as soft as goo, had promised him for ever, “My Tom, how I love you.”
But how was it, he pondered like a pain inside his head for her to promise for tomorrow when she knew that she'd be dead?
And all the other things, old promises and such, could he trust them as he wandered with her coffin to the church?
So Old Tom was angry the day his Agnes lied, but anger didn't numb him, he still broke down and cried. © 2016 Peter RogersonReviews
