Sunlight, SunlightA Poem by David Keagan
Sunlight, Sunlight,
Come unto me and touch my skin. Your warmth is like a grace, Countering the ice in my veins. As a child you've created memories of running through sprinklers and summer pool parties, Come unto me and make me whole again. I've become lost in old man Winters bitter chill, Bones frozen to the marrow. In the nights I hide in my shelter in fear that the clouds will overtake you once again. Look what it has done to your work! The green grass, fruitful harvests, and once blossomed perenials, shrivle and bow down to the cold's death clutch. At last, reassure to me that you're still here, My friend, my savior, Sunlight.
