Aftermath (Pandora continual)A Poem by imagwriteineMove on, and live proud.Foolish, Foolish Pandora, Opening the box of love and hope, Releasing affection upon the world, Tying up one another with invisible ropes.
Curious, Curious Pandora, Filling the world with succulent love and
hope, Now people will die because of their heart, Not of cardiac arrest, but of heartbreaks.
Foolish, Foolish Pandora, Why have I done this to myself? Now as the one I love evanesces, dissipates
into fog, How am I to live now that I am shelved?
Curious, Curious Pandora, Look at what I have bestowed? An elastic cord between lovers, Rebounds and snaps when overly pulled.
Alone I stand on a cliff, Looking at the waves below, Splattering glitter, swirling midair, Gusts of wind trickling through my hair as
they blow.
Tormenting is the sun, Hot, ruthless, Yet it sets the ocean blazing, Sparkling, restless.
How I want to leap towards the stars below, Sprout a foamy white silhouette, And sink to the bottom of the bottomless
sea, Embraced by dampness, wet.
As I jump into oblivion, A warm, rough hand grasps my arm, And pulls me backwards, First startled, I lean on his shoulder to lament.
Soothing are his arms holding me, Comforting are his words, ‘Pandora don’t cry’ he says, ‘You’ll move on and discover your other
half, your rest.’ © 2015 imagwriteineAuthor's Note
