I stare blankly at my laptop's screen Digging through my mind, Searching for some words and phrases To put into my rhyme. I type and type but everything seems wrong Then before I know it I am simply out of time. I try and try but never get it right Everything seems sour like a lemon or a lime. I guess my dream of poetry is just not right for me This poem might be the last for me so good bye, see you next time!
My First Real Poem. You Like It. I was never good at writing but when I wrote about how bad my writing was I made this. Still not sure if it's good though. Please comment!

When you're first starting to write its always hard. Don't worry. You just have to dig into your deeper emotions and a master piece will come from it! As for this poem I think it is excellent. The line "everything seems sour like a lemon or a lime," is very true sometimes when it comes to writing. Sometimes things just don't sound right. I think your word flow is great! Nice job!
Ok, you can write as is in evidence above. I suspect you simply lack inspiration. Your poem is well written and it flows nicely. Just keep writing and you'll find what you're looking for.
Haha, this is exactly how I felt when I wrote my first poem. It feels like it's not good enough, as if it can be better, or doesn't make sense, and I worried if others would like it. However, considering this is your first actual poem, this is really good! It was very enjoyable to read, not just because I could relate to the feeling, but also because it had this catchy rhythm, and also a bit of humor. Please don't give up on writing, once you start, it's like addictive, and it is through practice you can make improvements and I really think this poem is very good.
You have to find the right type of writing you want to do, and then work on it like crazy. For me, I started out as a poet, thinking that was the best way to express myself and do some awesome stuff, but then found out I was better at writing short stories and books.
You just need to find out what interests you. It takes more work than you think. It doesn't just come naturally like that commonly held belief.
Here's a tip: Keep writing. Just write stuff over and over and over again. Keep writing different poems until you start developing a style, a flow, a greater sense of what a good poetry is. That will actually happen naturally if you keep up with it.
Get out there and write. Power up that laptop and type some stuff! If it isn't your best work, post it anyway. Then you can look back and say "Wow, I can't believe I used to write like that." and press the delete button. It's a good feeling.
You'll be getting critique from people as you write as well if you keep posting. Also do some reading and reviewing. If you review people's writing, not only will they come and review yours, but you will gain a better understanding of what good poetry is, and you'll pick up a few skills.
Get out there and write. Or type. Whatever fits. :P
