Summer Love (Season Series)A Poem by Pester D. FinchesPart 1
1. Summer Love Summer love, like wild geese, That rise up and caw, Rise up and fly, out of sight, Out of mind, off and away Through the gathering mist, The long forgotten nights, spent Whispering to ghosts in pillows Or long dark shadows on the walls. Long nights filled with pain and fear That filled every corner of the evening, Overflowed from tear filled eyes, And let fall every tiny drop Falling down her pale cheek. Long walks through the woods, Light breeze and cigarette smoke, A sudden smile, a quick touch, A pain filled gaze, Children crying in the fog, Their mothers blindly groping out Reaching for the slightest touch, A bit of cloth, a piece of hair, But nothing felt, nothing found. © 2010 Pester D.
