A Good Man

A Good Man

A Poem by Pester D. Finches
"

for my friend, sent to jail.

"

A Good Man

He was a good man,
A man like any other, friendly,
Happy, had children,
A wife and he loved them very much.
He went to temple.
His mistake is shown in his eyes now,
I cannot help it,
I just cannot meet his poor grey eyes,
Eyes of happiness,
Happiness, now gone under the flood,
Of burning gazes.
I miss him, his soft voice, mellow mind,
I miss his smile,
Miss the innocence, the time before
His life was ruined.
I will not see him for six more months,
His mistake, horrid,
Let my memory not be blighted,
He IS a good man.

Very good poem! It really sends the message that people that make bad choices aren't necessarily bad people. It was very emotional and powerful.
Bravo!
