Friday Night

Friday Night

A Poem by Persephone

It’s Friday night

And I’m alone

He said he’d be here

But he’s not

He spoke of many future plans

He said a lot of things

I wanted to believe

I was convinced

That I wouldn’t be alone

On this Friday night

I've been in that same exact boat with both friends and girlfriends. They said they'd come or that they'd call me to pick them up, I ended up watching a movie alone. Lying comes from a forked tongue I always say. It may be partial truth, but in the end it always hurt someone.

Loneliness is hard, but not impossible. Trust me, I know--hang in there.

Thanks :)
The only thing good about a situation like this is that it can inspire a good poem. I do have to point out the line "He said a lot of things" - well, people do so...guard your heart, but don't become a cynic. ;/ Skeptic is probably okay, but remember there are examples of honest, sincere, and loving people...gems in a landfill, but gems deserve gems like you. ;)

So sorry you were alone last night. Me too but it leaves you open to creation and possibilities and this poem proves it. I would suggest taking out the last like and then the impact is multiplied by a factor of 100!
