Hollow PursuitsA Poem by My Phoenix ProjectA realization
I never really understood the term "Hollow Pursuits."
Until Now. I had you, thought I'd lost you, found you, then tried to pursue you. But you were long gone. I was clinging to a distant memory of a fantasy never realized. Chasing a hope, a life...never to be mine. I thought a different choice, a different path would lead me home, fulfilled. But in the end the same decisions and same fear, kept me where I've always been. It's all hollow, all empty, big words with no meaning. I find myself alone again and realize I never dealt with this feeling. The Chase is done, I am alone, all efforts solidify this truth. I guess I finally understand the term, "Hollow Pursuits."
