CHAPTER 3: Andrew

CHAPTER 3: Andrew

A Chapter by preposterous

This Dusty chick is sitting in her cutey position (Criss-Cross) on the far side of the coffee table because Chris and I are taking up the couch. She sippin' her Earl Grey from her pink mug and constantly rubbing her hair in between her fingers until I asked her about herself.
Downfall-She has a boyfriend.
Minus 50 points.
She puts her mug down on the table and I do the same with my hat, cause I guess it's manners or some s**t.
I ruffled my hair cause I had been wearing the hat since 2 in the afternoon and it was 5 by now and hathair isn't very attractive for someone like me.
"Well, my name is Dusty Laboe." she started, her fingers rubbing now the end of her shirt.
"I am 15, allergic to pickles...um...Yeah."
Nice.
"So Dusty, where are your parents?" Chris asked.
Dusty sighed and said "Dad's dead, Mom's workin-WOAH WHAT IS THAT!" She let out a shriek and pulled herself five feet away from us.
What in God's name was she yelling about? I looked over to Chris to see that he was holding Nebbs in his hands.
"Whaaat?" Chris declared. "It's just my pet."
"Dude! You never take out Nebbs in front of a girl!" I screamed.
"Jeezus, Drew, it's just a goddamn frog!"
Dusty, still freaked out, inched closer and whispered "Why, on earth, w-would you take out this thing?"
"Dusty, she's been in my pocket for like an hour, she needs some fresh air."
Dusty threw herself into the kitchen and then came out with a clear plastic cup and lid with several holes the size of apple seeds.
"Put her in here." Dusty commanded.
Chris carefully took Nebbs and placed her into the cap, but before it could be closed, Nebbs hopped out, over the couch, 3 feet, and then up the stairs.
"GET HER OUUUT!" Dusty screeched.
"Drew, you get 'er! I'm crippled!" Chris yelped pointing to his knees.
I rapidly climbed the stairs to see Nebbs disappear into a room on the left. I looked at the door, a white with the words written on a paper and taped in it "DUSTY".
Oh no.
I walked in and shut the door, and looked around.
The walls were a pale blue and there was a window near the door. On the far right was a bunk bed with pink and purple stripes for sheeting and red blankets. The wood floor was half covered in a square carpet with a large heart on it. Near the bed was a chestnut colored wardrobe that was open. I crept near the bed and saw something hopping around, Nebbs. I searched around the bed and saw Nebbs sitting near a corner of a white pillow.
"There you are, girl." I whispered and picked up Nebbs and found an empty glass Coca-Cola bottle and stuffed her in there. I found a sheet of paper and put it on top of the entrance to make sure she didn't escape. As I was about to leave something caught my eye, something shiny under a floor board under the wardrobe. I put the bottle down near the door and walked over to the wardrobe. I squatted down and examined the wardrobe, dresses and skirts overflowed, bras and underwear were stuffed in the corners along with socks, jeans, and polo shirts. I slanted my head and leaned down and looked under the wardrobe. A loose floorboard.
Like the ones in the Nancy Drews or whatever. I opened it up with a slight creeeaaaaaaaaaaaak and pulled out the shining object.
A necklace. A small one, the chain was silver and a single charm was there, not a charm, a locket. A heart locket that is. I clicked it open and inside was a small folded note. I peeled it open and scribbled in the paper was the words
"ITS OVER"
Gee whiz, a boyfriend?
I folded it back and stuffed it back in the locket. The heart that held it was gold. Real? I examined it. Maybe.
I stared at it for a second.
I pocketed the locket.
