Sonnet in Stone

Sonnet in Stone

A Poem by Jenna

A step in stone you arch for me, this dance

will rattle bones -- you break this time a ways
beyond the finish, there. You breathe, amaze
me now. Fresh scowls -- forget me sheer, by chance;
I'll grip your heart; you'll take, alone, your stance.
You slip beneath all I have known. Still praise
will have its chance. Tonight we wake, we gaze
in step and stone -- we venture toward romance.
Then breathe goodbye with tender hearts, without
a hand to grasp. We stall ourselves; we sigh
and linger now, but calm, I start to go.
A whispered kiss upon my lips, no doubt,
just there, just one, once more -- again goodbye.

We breathe apart, yet struggle even so.

Jenna
I'm not very good with meter, so if you can point out any issues that you notice, that would be super. (I'm sure there are many!)

I strive to make myself sound interesting, and I fail every time. I'll keep this short. I write things sometimes. Not as often as I'd like anymore, but still sometimes. I'm not very good at it, but I.. more..
