Volcano

Volcano

A Poem by Periac

this ache

overwhelmed

even for the poet

I looked up and saw you there

in painted framed beauty

looking down with treasures

showering me with glitter hail

what's this warmth I feel?

heavy my breath breathing for two

this path I'm embarked on

a welcome fear

in dusty chapbooks I've claimed to have known love

I never claimed to be perfect

so the truth of my belief left me beaten and bruised

my heart is a volcano with you sweet Scarlett

tumbling over grassy hills I still hold steady flagpoles fluttering my dreams for you

I'd chase that smile over any ground underfoot

I'll do so with the stupidest grin ever!

I don't care what this warmth is!

I've never known it

but I love it

I love you
