dancing joust

dancing joust

A Poem by Periac

I'm armored

some would say ignorant

though even rusted a breastplate can tame

I'm armed

some would say stubborn

though even rusted a sword can slice

grunt versus grunt the story moved on

in spinning ninja kick dancing jousts

the horse I rode fell hard to ground

while I cried inside

with words that divide

and when cornered sorrow pouts

we never should wear such dirty old rags

never should wave a surrendering flag

I'm properly studied and mostly confident

some would say clever and deceitful

though even underfed I can prepare opinions

here I am

take this leather-bound scroll of my intentional tension

by my own accord the words dress pure

but even pure

there's always a virgin who prefers black
