Elope

Elope

A Poem by Periac
"

piece about .....

"
i can hear them talk about me

i came here dressed in worn rags
muffled in previous false happyness
down and beaten by a love gone....

now you a new bird
fluttering about in swirling confusion
chirped to me of past pains
I'm presenting to you a clean slate

storm clouds seeped overhead  in the form of unacceptance
lightning curses and untrustful thunder

I stood longer
holding your frame in a comfortable shelter

let them wish me ill
whispering my damnation
in this grassy vale I'm pure and open

illuminating upon the unfaithful
a crimson smile

The ebb and flow of this is superb...normally, the small i offends me...but it fits just right here !

This piece requires several readings, eacb time discovering new nuances to enjoy.

Good job!
