Pluck the Music from the Tree

Pluck the Music from the Tree

A Poem by Benjamin

Music has taste,

it has texture.

Sometimes I will pick

at the notes

and choose the most succulent pieces,

a three bar phrase

or high octave trill,

and let my hungry teeth

slowly sink in,

like a ripe plum.

The melody

drips down my chin

and tickles my throat

to sing.

I love how you made the idea of music, something that isn't tangible, into something that is completely tangible...relating it to fruit, nourishment..
Music is one of the most complex languages to learn, but all you have to do is take a bite and taste the juices

I like the metaphor of the text and the pun of the title. Good work.
