Sleepy

Sleepy

A Poem by perfectlyadapted
"

some numb gum

stuck to the bottom of my brain

slow flowing thoughts

forming purple, blue dots on the backs of my eyes

sweet lies lies lies

fly fly fly from your lips

quick quips are sure to tip the sinking boat

stop the float

stop the ride

it's been wild and fine

get in line, now's the time

to ride on again

ride on to the setting sun

meanwhile unstick that sticking gum

free my mind from the lagging lethargy of your love
