White, White Lies

White, White Lies

A Poem by perfectlyadapted
"

...

"

You know what it's like to lie through

white, white teeth

to walk on the wrong side of the street

to dance to an entirely different beat

Moving dangerously close to the edge

Nothing can be done to stop your imminent fall

Running to save you I hit an impenetrable wall

A boundary mockingly clear

your knowing eyes piercing like a spear

"One day you and I will meet again in a beautiful sky"

Your wise eyes say but I don't know why

I don't know why you let gravity attack

why you let it pull you back, why you stood exposed

Maybe because I was blinded by those

white, white lies

I failed to see you wave goodbye

nicely done. I really liked this one as much as the others you've written.
