She is to be seen, never heard never a word passes through stony lips to converse with her is to admit a slip in sanity but maybe the eyes that stare into infinity will shift to the present company only for a second, not long enough to see a lonely statuette interact with a crazy human being who imitates her stoic gaze walks as though in a haze perhaps it is only a phase behaving as though displayed on a pedestal to be seen but never heard
Very interesting concept. I like the idea of paying extra attention to a statue, something that normally goes near unnoticed.
The idea of the statue leaning on the verge of life is another interesting thought.
All in all, this is a very thought provoking piece.
This poem creates a nice metaphor for how a person could feel. Such an odd feeling to have, but a serious one no doubt.
Your poetry is full of great metaphors and I look forward to reading more!
Good write!

i like the imagery &meaning of this one! the interaction between the statue &the human being, "who imitates her stoic gaze/walks as though in a haze" is very powerful. while reading this, i thought of the way we pass through life blind and deaf to "the statues" - to the world and the people in it. And many people are like the statues, with the power to see, but voiceless.
