A National Womb

A National Womb

A Poem by Percy Dludlu
"

To be read with understanding

"
It started in your womb
The pains and morning sicknesses
The pressure and unyielding headaches
The frustrations and common moods
The pukes on toilets seats
The sighs and unexplainable cravings
Soon A Son Was Born
Born into a nation
He lived up to friends expectations
Always a victim of teasing
Started smoking to be cool it w his friends his was pleasing
His moods tempered
The respect and loved he once had lowered
Soon A Man Grew
Became aggressive
His performance was dull not impressive
Looking back finding something to blame
His behaviour all and his edge to get to the fame
Soon The Family Will Be Saying Goodbye
He was shot for attempting house break in
Neighbours asking questions "What happened" keen
A mother staring at hia dead son
The morning for her came before the sun
A new age fashion
Has a again cause lost to the nation.

A National Womb.

' To be read with understanding' I think that said it all. This poem does make one ponder, and willingly/unwillingly takes to the point who, what, when actually went wrong. The last line strikes right to the heart.

I hope you don't mind me pointing out, but at some places, there were some typo error. It will make a smoother reading if you would set them right.
