Enchanted Garden

Enchanted Garden

A Poem by peppino ruggeri
"

Reflections on life.

"

Through this enchanted garden

I’ll travel only once

Sweet wine I want to savor

I want to join the dance

I want to soak the sunshine

Be kissed by a breeze at night

I want to smell the flowers

The weeds keep out of sight

I want to share my laughter

I want to cry

In this enchanted garden

To beauty I aim my sight

I want to walk in silence

My footprint to be light

When sad I can still smile

When hurt can still be kind

To all my heart will open

Always will speak my mind

Will share the joy of friendship

Will bear the pain

Through this enchanted garden

I’ll travel only once

I want to make a difference

Will not sit on the fence

I’ll be grateful for each moment

Even on a lonely night

For simple fare be thankful

I’ll keep my burden light

I’ll share what I’ve been given

I won’t be shy

I want to feel the beat

Of heart that’s seeking heart

When I hold my lover’s hand

I want to reach the sky

I want to touch a soul

Before I die.

This poem tells reader that the author wants to live life to the full and doesn't want to leave without making a mark. We do only pass by once. It is up to each one of us to make the most of it. We don't get a second chance. You have a lovely poetic voice and I enjoyed reading this poem. It has an optimistic outlook.Thank you for posting.
