Facebook Quilting II: Fae

Facebook Quilting II: Fae

A Poem by Penulis Kecil
"

Having tackled Cento poetry, I decided to take matters into my own hands. This one is composed entirely of my friend Fae's Facebook updates (primarily statuses but also links and comments).

"

Finding yourself

lying in toast crumbs and chocolate spread

when you fall into bed at 1am

is the perfect end to a long day.

"Fat controller...

I have some very bad news...

James is broken

and now he's dead.."

I worry

about my son sometimes!

Preschoolers are so delightful.

[I]

had a brilliant night

watching fireworks with Benji.

He was bouncing around

in time

with the bangs and trying

to catch the sparkles.

"Mummy...

if I'm really really good

do you think

Spiderman

could bring my christmas presents

instead of Father Christmas?"

Now he is fast asleep

and mummy

is having a glass of mulled wine.

Perfect :-)

Author's Note

Penulis Kecil
Since none of the specific words are mine (with the sole exception of "[I]"), I'd prefer if reviews focused on how well this works as a poem, whether the lines link together adequately and whether or not this was a crazy idea at all, thank you. Full credit for all the words used goes to Fae (and Benji). <3
