Inversion

A Poem by Penulis Kecil
"

This just snuck out while I was getting ready for bed...

"

And in certain lights I see

a smattering of gum

delicately laced over skin;

how sweet the words

you hear in my breath.

In this web of lies I see

a smattering of skin

daintily tangled o'er memory;

how empty the promise

you breathe in my ears.

This really had me thinking... it has the flavour of a riddle about it... i thought along the lines of how lies viel the truth but sometimes present what we want to hear... how sometimes we are able to penetrate the lies/'skin' and unravel someones true meaning... it is an intriguing and nicely balanced poem.
