Miscarriage (In Colour)

Miscarriage (In Colour)

A Poem by Penulis Kecil
"

Another poem about the day I lost my daughter.

"
The order of the day was
green-blue bedsheets,
then faded tiles
and brushing out
brown hair dyed red.

Tie it up, then
silver foil, then
blue eyes turned red
while crimson-turned-brick-turned-blackened-turned-
shades of red
(and a tiny
lump of grey).

In the end,
the order of the day
was lost in
pain and
blood and
chocolate and
the colours of what it meant
to lose you.

Searing. A painting in words that describes the images' impact on the viewer in terms that use words like tiny, whips, each one snapping against the heart until it breaks. I am so sorry for your loss.
