on grief

on grief

A Poem by Penulis Kecil
"

The grief of miscarriage, and the sort of things people say to "help" you feel better.

"
words pierce me
through the holes of you
daggers tracing pencil paths-
well worn
over done

one in three pregnancies
ends this way

buck up,
it's not the end of the
world

but for you
it was.

when i saw the title of this poem it was not at all what i was expecting when i actually read it. the last line killed me. its such a simple peom, but that ending has such a great impact. you're all "oh...sad" and then those last five words, it's like "...oh, s**t."

um...i have a hard time explaining what i feel, so i'm sorry if this review doesnt' make much sence. but, i really think this is a very good poem.
