Civilisation

Civilisation

A Poem by Penulis Kecil
"

A brief look at society.

"
We scream into the quiet,
decrying a thousand atrocities
of minimal effect-
"I'm running late;
food's gone cold;
and I just broke another nail"

but we will whisper
when we speak of empty nests
for caged birds;
(built of paper, bark,
a hundred tiny twigs,
and the shavings of a future, stolen).
