she tiptoes through the house with
her white robes glittering like maybe
she's an angel in pretend, somehow
managing to get all the things she
wanted to do and do them in one
clean sweep - oh-so neat and tidy.

she tiptoes through the house with
velvet toes soft as the kitten she
yearns to own next month - put him
in a small room to let him learn this
is the way things are here but you
will always be loved and adored.

she tiptoes through the house with
hair unbrushed - tangled and wild
like the part of her that rebels in
nerves against the day that leaps and
bounds toward her with only just
nine or so more days left to go.

A Poem by Penulis Kecil
"

In May 2002, my wedding loomed large - excited and nervous and dreaming of the future; this piece is a brief look into what was going on for me at that time.

thanks for reviewing my poem. I have enjoyed yours and they seem rather sorrowful yet nostalgic.
