chapter 2

A Chapter by Starr Rainbow

Later that night, the princess decided to go down to the hotel restaurant to get something to eat. She still had her dirty purple dress on, but she didn’t care, she was really hungry. She walked into the hotel reception, and it was there she met him, exactly as the clock struck 20:00. She couldn’t take her eyes of him, enchanted by his sky blue eyes, perfect brown hair and lightly tanned skin. And he couldn’t take his eyes off her, mystified by her dark brown eyes, with her blemish free skin.

“Hi, I’m Collins” he said as he kissed her hand, the princess gasped.

“Hay I’m Tiara, it is very nice to meet you”, he said both nervously and excited.

The Prince and the Princess both thought to themselves, “I have found the one, so far away from my own kingdom”. They stood there for a few moments just staring into each other’s eyes. It seemed to be that he was waiting for her, and she was waiting for him, the first and last time of their soon to be very complicated relationship.

He whisked her into the restaurant; everybody stared at these two crazy strangers. They sat down for dinner. But all of a sudden the princess was not hungry. Neither said a word to each other. They just looked at each other across the table.

“I look a mess”, the princess though out loud

“You look so beautiful” the prince said letting out a little chuckle. “Let’s go for a walk”,

“Sure”.

They both left the table hand in hand. Smiling and looking into each other’s eyes deeply. They got to the fountain at the back of the hotel, it was here sitting on the cold stone that they exchanged their first kiss under the moonlight.  Both of them felt more alive now than what they had ever done before. They were free from their parents and their demands. Princess Tiara had been hurt many times in the past by men and boys who were supposed to have ‘loved’ her. She didn’t believe either love or trust existed but for the first time in a long time she felt safe and fulfilled.

Over the next couple of days, they spent every waking hour together. They went out to dinner twice a week, spent time just relaxing in the park with a picnic. The princess had found her prince and the prince had found his princess. The prince had been hurt many times by those who “loved” him. To the prince, girls were just objects that looked good at his side, love was a myth. The prince’s intentions for the princess were not what they seemed.

After spending so many weeks together they decided to have a night out without each other, so they could meet and make new friends. The prince went to the Coconut Arms pub and the princess went to White Dove Cliff nightclub. At the Coconut Arms the prince met a golden haired girl, who was Princess Coconut. They talked and drank all night long, and the prince ended up going back to the palace with Princess Coconut.

The next morning, horrified by his actions the prince climbed out of the bedroom window of princess coconut’s room and ran all the way back to the hotel, where he found princess Tiara snuggled up in bed. He gently sat by the side of her and stroked her pale skin.

“Good morning” the princess said waking up to the smell of perfume and rubbing the sleep from her eyes

“Good morning my angel” the prince replied, giving princess tiara a kiss on the forehead.

“You smell of perfume, why?” she asked curiously.

“A lady in reception was spraying some, she must have sprayed some on me when I walked past”, the Princes smiled.

Princess Tiara was happy with her prince and no doubt about him being unfaithful entered her mind, even after a lady from the room next door told her about the prince’s actions the previous night. She just brushed it under the carpet and put it down to jealousy. “Of course women are going to make up stories like that, they want him to themselves” she thought. The princess was not willing to give pleasure as fun; she believed making love was between two people who don’t share their bodies with others. She received a phone call, telling her of the prince’s actions again, but this time from Princess Coconut.

“Your boyfriend has been unfaithful”, said Coconut

“Don’t be ridiculous, he would never do anything like that, he loves me”, replied an annoyed Princess,

“He may love you but he came back to mine last night, we made love all night and he left early this morning” Coconut said “when you see him ask him”.

Even after this phone call Princess Tiara brushed it aside. She wanted, no she needed to believe him. After all the heartache the prince had encountered with his previous princess, he wouldn’t break the princess in the same way.

Princess Tiara was happy here in coconut hill; she could finally be her true self and not feel as if she had to act like something she was not. She didn’t let the harsh words from Princess Coconut hurt her. She often felt hopeless and death sometimes seemed the only solution. Her chest tightened, she began to hurt, and she was all alone in this strange place, with a man she had only known a few short weeks. Sat on the bed, warm tears slowly streamed down her face. She didn’t want to believe Coconut, but deep down she felt that something wasn’t right with the Prince She wanted the prince with her now, but he was out looking for a place for them both to live, or so she thought.
