The Front

The Front

A Poem by Pennylane
"

A poem about learning to lead.

"
I stood before the Board
with an audience there.
I had pressed my suit and twisted my hair
in such a way I was afraid to move.
I was set just right.
I even had matching socks.
Inside my suit I shook
but it held me up,
good sturdy suit
washed thin
but that won't matter
because I'm on fire.
I'm doing what a leader does.
I'm leading
from the front

It sure is about leading but it makes me confused on the persona of the speaker. He could be a lawyer or a business man or maybe something else. I'm not sure if I just didn't catch it or if the vagueness is intentional, even so, the concept is nice. It's funny how people sometimes draw strength from their attire.

Keep Writing. ^___^
