I ran.

I ran as far and as fast as I could. The door was so close. A yard. A foot. The silence killed me. But, from above, quiet as death, he dropped on me.

His cloak of shadows fluttered around his malleable form, and I finally got the first look at the man who had assailed my dreams for months now.

"You?" I asked, my voice clenching in my throat. And then it became too much, and the darkness once more swallowed me into its embrace.
