Zen Story: The Zen master read some Zen proverbs, and found a greater truth

Truth always reaches deeper than the words that are describing it. The real truth exists behind the words.

"

The Zen master, Rolfus Zerpacke, was reading a book of Zen proverbs, when he came across this one.

"Let go, or be dragged."

He immediately got the idea to write this back to front like this:

"Hang on, or be dropped."

Then he thought to himself.

"Which is more correct?"

"Does either of these sayings contain any truth in it?"

Finally, he realised this realisation then too:

"Truth is not in the saying, but in what is behind the saying, and here, what is behind, is in front, which means hanging on, or letting go, is not the same until you do not hang on, or let go, but just let be."

He was satisfied with what he had thought.

He had found a greater truth.
