Envy of Indigo

Envy of Indigo

A Poem by Penjamin Hearst

My eyes were opened
Since i can't remember
Every new day's story to tell
Most I've entirely forgotten
But some are still with me
Thoughts repeating until this day
Lessons learned on the path
Always towards something I can't understand

Sleep is the bridge that saves
It shows me everything
Opens my heart again
Because it's just a dream

When I think of the way
The sky above turns to grey
Violet shades change to blue
That's when I remember you

Ultraviolet star heart karma
Alien love true compassion
Ultraviolet star heart karma
Alien love true compassion

My heart splits every time
It encounters the real thing
It's not that I'm weak or strong
Just that I am pulled on
One piece dies and one revives
Left and right in a struggle
Hope and despair intertwined
Sleep at the end of the day

Sleep is the bridge that saves
It shows me everything
Opens my heart again
Because it's just a dream

When I think of the way
The sky above turns to grey
Violet shades change to blue
That's when I remember you

Ultraviolet star heart karma
Alien love true compassion
Ultraviolet star heart karma
Alien love true compassion
