The Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments

A Poem by Penny Lusk
"

This came to me one night, after or during a dream--which one I'm not sure of, but I do know an angel told it to me.

"

He is your only,

You are one of His many,

You Shall Not Have Other Gods Before Me.

You are not of the holy,

You are not one to be worshiped,

You Shall Not Make Your Self A Carved Image—an Idol.

You should watch your tongue,

Do not speak as a serpent,

You Shall Not Use the Lord’s Name In Vain

For six days, you are given work,

Be like him, rest on the seventh,

Remember The Sabbath Day, Keep It Holy.

Separated, they—your parents—are individuals,

Together, they are your guardians from God,

Honor Your Mother and Father.

To punish is one thing,

To kill is a sin,

You Shall Not Commit Murder

You should love with your heart, not your eyes,

You should not lust, except for the shaped clouds in the skies,

You Shall Not Commit Adultery

You should work for your share,

To take—you shall not dare,

You Shall Not Steal.

To lie is foul,

Honesty is true integrity.

You Shall Not Give False Testimony Against Your Neighbor.

You should appreciate your own,

You should be grateful for what is yours,

You Shall Not Covet Anything That Is Your Neighbors.

The Ten Commandments explained in a new way. I like it.
It has good rhythm and flow. I think our dreams tell us a lot about not only ourselves, but about other things as well. Keep listening to your dreams, I do.
