Impetuous

Impetuous

A Poem by colin
"

i made getting dirty sound pretty?

"

A pair of corduroys torn to shreds,

Chasing after a frisbee down the sewer drain

Where the stalactites hang

And vacuous, violet eyes flicker in shadow.

Soft serve, blistering and bleeding

Through a chocolate ice cream shell.

Staining little hands,

Sullying new upholstery.

The mud smells like industrial waste

And shimmers with a film of motor oil and saw dust.

Leave no man behind, amputate.

Thigh deep in the murky brown muck.

The bright red elephant cranes with a crooked trunk

For the red watermelon high in the palm leaves.

Staining a shirt sleeve and for all the world

Acrylics won't dissolve with soapy water.

Watching a salvage operation.

Feeling guilty and awkward,

Standing next to her as she

Sanctifies the imperfections

With a tooth brush.

I love it!!!!... your imagery is amazing and it has a good flow to it... I would suggest you make the font bigger so it's easier to read but thats it... Great job! This is going into my favorites lol....
