Moonlight

Moonlight

A Poem by Jessica

The moonlight shines on her pale, porcelain face making her look beautiful and flawless,

He watches her sleep with such peace meanwhile there is a war raging on deep within him,

The battle is not pretty,

He hides it from her,

He hides all of his stress, his worries, his cares,

He knows his love for her is stronger than his thirst,

She knows her love for him fascinates him to the core,

She doesn't seem to care that he is this monster, this freak,

That at any moment he could snap her in half,

That any moment could be her last,

They truly are an unlikely couple,

A match made in a twisted heaven,

No matter their love is true and their passion is fierce,

They couldn't be happier,

A beauty fell in love with a beast.

Love has no boundaries. This is a reflection of that. I would love to hear more about the war raging inside of the monster. Adding intrique to this poem adds depth, since in fact we've heard the story of the beauty and the beast time and again.
Nicely written.
