I am Loved

I am Loved

A Story by gladys aily

A lot of people say that February is a "love month." Boys buy flowers for their girlfriend, and husbands treat their wives in a romantic date. They even spend a lot of money for their leisure. Well, is it really the meaning of the so-called true love? Or is just a "trend" that people need to follow?

Honestly, I have no idea how it feels to be loved by a guy my age. But that doesn't mean that I don't feel loved. For I have parents who are always there for me, real friends who understand and accept who I truly am, and most of all my God who has never left my side in spite of my unfaithfulness to Him.

If there are circumstances in which I think that nobody loves and seems to care for me, I just remember who were there for me when no one else was. Whoever they are, it's very obvious that they truly love me. And I am indeed thankful that God has given them to me.

Personally I don't consider this month as "love month." For February is not just a month in which we should show our love to others. There are many opportunities wherein we can express our love to many. It may not be by giving them flowers or treating them in a fancy restaurant, but by sharing with them what true love is.

John 3:16 says, "16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." This is definitely what true and perfect love is all about.
