The Time is Now

The inhumane ways of humans,

Pride splayed across our hearts,

We, we have made society what it is,

Sculpting its success and its failures,

But need to learn, learn from those

Who we put ourselves above.

Corruption to loyalty,

Poverty to wealth,

War to peace,

Equality to inequality

Racism, sexism, murder, genocide, total war, violent retaliation

When will we realize that the time,

the time is now,

Time is of the essence,

A necessity to provide opportunity,

The only way it is used to full

potential is to take advantage of it.

Hear with open ears what is being said,

Speak respectfully what is on your mind,

See with open eyes what needs to be seen,

Touch the hearts of others with kindness,

And last but not least,

Act on what needs to be done.
