Drown Out the Noise

Drown Out the Noise

A Poem by peculiar
"

free writing is so liberating

"

An urge,

a surge.

Your voice,

my choice?

Shhhh..

Drown out the noise.

Oh boy,

don’t toy.

Hush now

Knitting up my brows,

as I think of how.

Sigh

Oh but why,

should I give it a try?

Flashback.

Stand back,

I cut the wire,

Snip

Snip

Stomp

Snuffing out the fire.

Before it takes hold,

I resign myself to the cold.

Ahh

Letting the chill permeate throughout,

numbing my every doubt.

I agree with you, free writing can be extremely liberating. I see so many writers get stuck in a rut, and they don't dare branch out to try something new, I find it hard to believe that it doesn't somehow stifle their creativity.

Nicely penned.

Aww thanks! Right it's really liberating!
Love this :) The rhyming and then the way you appeal to the different senses of sight and sound... Good job :)
