But a Wish is But a WishA Poem by peculiarDelusion or Reality, take your pick.Water water water This is all I can mutter, For thirst unquenched my mind starts to falter Through this scorching desert as we blunder,
From my side comes a triumphant cry, Given our state I wonder why For there he says does the water lie, From his point of direction I assume close by
My sudden relief dissolves in what I cannot see, Is his a mirage or can it be, I know the answer deep inside of me But In denial I wish to be, Living in his salvation fantasy
But a wish is but a wish Though true it would be bliss, I must open my eyes to see I never fall amiss As I venture out and find the water beneath the abyss For the truth is an uncharted and faceless kiss.
