stuck

stuck

A Poem by [Dark]

I crept along the sidewalks

As silent as I tried

Knowing if a noise were made

I knew that I’d be fried

But just as if I were myself

Clumsy as I am

The window just beside me

Shattered like my mule, old’ Sam

If that weren’t all

The winds just start to sway

The lights just start to flicker

And my stomach starts to fray

My tummy is growling

Hungry just a bit

And I can’t make my way across

Cause I don't have a light that’s lit

I search all my pockets

But it’s real hard to see

So now I am stuck in that one spot

Without a place to flee

its a funny poem and it captures the jovial mood of being in such a situation! The actions that happen are very helpful to accomplish this: the wind, stomach, window...Only one thing that put me off was the 8th line: "Shattered like my mule, old' Sam" it doesn't keep with the rythm of the poem..However it is an interesting line so it added to the ambiguosness of the situation! well written!
