My House on a Pin

My House on a Pin

A Poem by Amanda

A couple once told me that they had a house.

But it wouldn´t, they said, hold even a mouse.

And then I saw the house, on the head of a pin.

It looked so inviting, and I wanted in.

It was beautiful and blue with bushes and trees

And a little fat cat, so I said “Sell to me, please?”

They said “Okay, but we´ll have to shrink you,”

And I agreed, said whatever you need to.

And then I had shrunk and I looked at the room.

I felt like Ralph Mouse compared to a broom.

Then I turned on my heel, and just like that

That house was mine and so was the cat.
