My Best Friend

My Best Friend

A Poem by Peanut Albert Stowe
"

This poem is about someone I knew a couple years ago. She went by the name of Mia and almost killed me. I turned to her when I was in a state of depression. This poem touches on soft subjects.

"
We've been through a lot together,
You were there when I was at my worst,
We were like birds of a feather,
I was there when people turned on you,
I defended you in all weather.

You saw that I was sad and came to me,
You said you could help me be happy,
I was so excited to finally be,
Everyone said you'd be oh so crappy,
I didn't believe even one thing.

With your help I became popular,
People wanted to know my secret,
I introduced them to you as a foreigner,
They all seemed to know you as a monster,
Like you were just an imposter.

People wanted to help me get away from you,
But I thought you were the best thing,
They were trying to give me a clue,
About what you would bring,
I knew what I was doing,
At least that's what I thought.

I passed out today in class,
Everyone said it was your fault,
How could it be you,
I became fragile as glass,
You said it was ok,
I didn't feel ok.

I stayed home from school for you,
I couldn't get up to get ready,
I felt so blue,
I didn't have any will to go.

I stopped going to dance,
You were more important to me,
I was too weak from you,
I look good though,
That's good right.

People say I look sick,
What are they talking about?
You said "You look look good chick"
Why don't other people see,
That I'm finally me.

HELP ME!!
I'm scared,
I can't see anything,
I haven't had anything to eat,
Just like you asked.

Mia help me,
Please where are you,
They said they need you to go away,
But I need you.

Mia I'm dying,
Where are you now?
You said you'd stay!
I can't do this anymore.

I ate today,
Mia you tried to stop me,
The doctor said I needed it,
How much of a liar could you be.

Mia you came back,
Promise to stay this time.
I don't want to go back to what I was.

Hi not sure if this is a typo but please check. "You said "You look look good chick" is look meant to be there twice. It's a very difficult situation when a friend helps you to become sick, and I believe this poem portrays the desperate love and devotion of a beautiful friendship. The sad thing is that Mia was sick to begin with and as I understand Love blinded you to see this. Mia needs help too. The purity about friendship is a tender gift and I pray this poem relieves the pain. If this poem is about you or a friend or a friend of a friend or just an expression of what you see around you, I would say that healing is taking place and that if there are others in a similar situation they would also relate. Take care :) You really have a gift.

Mia isn't a person. It's an eating disorder.

Depression is a stage we all go through. Though I haven't really felt what you have because duh, I don't have close friends at school and betrayal makes me really sick. Rather not have connections than wait for the day I'll need to severe them.

But you know, sometimes these things can help you. Your failures and negative emotions can help you (if you want them) improve your sight as you look into the world. They will guide you out of the path that bore them.

Keep up the good wooork and someday you can show her who's the boss, :D

Keep calm and loooove writing

oh, sorry for taking it literally.
This is so touching and you can tell it is true. It breaks my heart, and I hope that this story isn't about you.

Because if you are, you can take it from me; you're an excellent writer and you are a talented individual. You 're body is what it is meant to be, this ridiculous country's standards shouldn't faze you.
You are YOU, not anybody else, and YOU are perfect just the way you are, as am I and anybody else. :)

Are you anorexic? I don't mean to offend you by asking but I'm just curious.
