Flutter Rush.

Flutter Rush.

A Poem by Incindie M. Coeur

the

anticipation

of seeing you

so soon, but too far away

my heart skips a beat

and my mind goes astray

as thoughts of you fill up my head,

i constantly begin to think about, those frightening things that i dread

like

what if you don't like me

what if i was completely wrong

what if i stumble with my words

what if we don't belong

together.

when i'm with you,

when i catch your gaze,

make heart challenges me to a race

it says, let's play

can i out run you?

or will you keep up to my pace?

it almost always wins, and you slip just a little too far

my words on my tongue linger

and i know, i'm not up to par.

but my heart flutters so loudly

for you.

you must hear it, does yours do it too?

for me?

i doubt it, for when i catch your gaze

i bet

you will not even remember my face.

for when i finally saw you

you continued to walk past me,

glazed.

so i hope next time i see you,

which may be never again

that i will have more courage talk to you when

our eyes meet from afar and say,

there's something about you,

so make your move, in this game we play.
