some people crash parties

some people crash parties

A Poem by Lana Bee
"

just a short free verse about death

"
some people crash parties: i crash funerals
i live to see the dead, and those less so
the damage they leave behind and the sadness
i feed on it.

sometimes i'm an old friend, other times a lover
sometimes i'm a priestess, other times a lawyer
meaningless names in meaningless shades
rather like the one in the grave.

i don't understand it either-the joy
maybe it's the intensity i seek, maybe the tears
i'm allowed to cry too, when the other people look
i cry for the dead, i cry for me.

The first line surprises with an unexpected admission of being a funeral crasher and carries me along until the end. There's a subdued intensity about the tone which I liked. Kudos.

I liked it! To me, no capitals, no problem.
