I Dare YouA Poem by KaitI wrote this for my mom............I dare you to tell me the truth
to tell me all you've said are not lies
to look me in the eyes
I dare you to tell me I'm not your kind.
I dare you to take a look around
to tell me you enjoy this life
to tell me you enjoy being his wife
I dare you to tell me you're happy with where you are in life.
I dare you to tell me you don't regret
to tell me when you look back what you felt
to tell me you don't regret the hand you've been dealt
I dare you to tell me your mistakes are nothing.
I dare you to tell me you haven't put everyone else first
to tell me the dream syou've sought
to tell me that all you've given up is not my fault
I dare you to tell me you're not scared to fulfill your dreams.
I dare you to tell me you're not my role model
to tell me all you've done for me
to tell me that you haven't shown me the woman I want to be
I dare you to tell me I don't look up to you.
I dare you to tell me I don't love you
to tell me you haven't cared for me all these years
to tell me you haven't given me the courage to face my fears
I dare you to tell me you're the reason I'm not scared.
Now I dare you to go out into the world again
to face the fact that I'm mostly grown
to listen to the poem you've been shown
I dare you to take courage and fulfill your dreams.
